State of California Caliwnia Environmental
Protection Agency
MEMORANDUM
To: Amalia Fernandez Date: February 23, 1993
Permits Branch
From: L.KLtA.Q—
Robert
- Anderson
Closure and Remediation Branch MAR 1 199
CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD
HEAITN
PERMIT/SF.RVICEs
Subject: Partial Review of Report of Facility Information,
Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill, San Joaquin County,
Facility No. 39 -AA -0005
The following comments are presented for your consideration
regarding my partial review of the Report of Facility Information
(RFI) prepared for the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill (Site),
dated December 1988. My comments are focused on the following
issues:
• Site development plan
• Current topographic maps
• A description of the site's geologic and hydrogeologic
setting
• Site drainage and erosion control elements
• Leachate monitoring, collection, and control
• Ground water monitoring system
• Landfill gas monitoring, collection, and control
1. Please note: the
requirements for Chapter 15, Article 5 monitoring have
become more stringent since 1988 and need to be adequately
addressed.
2. Please have the operator submit current topographical maps
for the site, as well as a pre -excavation topographic map
and a copy of the proposed final grade elevation plan (the
latter may be found in the final closure and postclosure
maintenance plans prepared by the County in November 1992.
3. The RFI indicates that the Ground Water Solid Waste
Assessment Test Report results conclude that the landfill
did not appear to impact the deep regional aquifer. New
ground water data indicates that ground water beneath the
