(Apex) has been authorized by Panella Trucking, to submit this report
documenting soil sampling activities at the site. Apex personnel collected soil samples from
beneath seven fuel and motor oil dispensers and underground associated product lines from
above ground tanks as part of station upgrade activities being performed at the site. The
dispenser upgrades were performed by Walton Engineering of West Sacramento (Walton) and all
soil work was completed by Veltkamp Construction (Veltkamp). Site features and sample
collection locations are depicted on Figures 1 and 2.
SAMPLING SUMMARY OF FIELD ACTIVITY
On February 19, 2021, Apex personnel were onsite to collect soil samples from beneath the
former location of 7 dispensers and the associated product lines. The dispenser and product lines
had been removed by Walton prior to the arrival of Apex staff. Apex obtained 7 dispenser soil
samples at 4 feet below ground surface (bgs) (D-1 through D-7) and collected 18 product line
soil samples at 4 feet bgs PL -1 through PL -18 (Figure 2).
After receipt of the February 19, 2021 sample results (Table 1), Apex mobilized to the site on
March 9, 2021. Veltkamp over excavated soil in seven areas that exceeded the Environmental
Screening Levels (ESLs) for Motor Oil (1,600 mg/Kg). The seven areas were excavated to
approximately 7 -foot bgs that exceeded the ESLs for Motor Oil (Figure 3).
After receipt of the results for the seven soil samples collected on March 9, 2021, Apex again
mobilized to the site on March 19, 2021. Veltkamp over excavated one area that exceeded the
ESLs for Motor Oil EX -1-7 feet bgs. This area was excavated to 10 feet bgs and one soil sample
was collected (EX -1-10) at 10 feet bgs.
(916) 851-0174
