SAN OAQ N COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
SITE APPROVAL
FILE NUMBER:
ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION
Attach additional sheets as necessary)
Topography
Describe the project site's topography:
The elevation of the project site is approximately 33 feet above-mean sea level. The project site appears
Ito have been previously leveled as it is currently used for vehicle storage. The eastern half of the parcel-
that is not a part of the project includes an orchard and ranges from in elevations of 40 to 70 feet above
mean sea level. A drainage ditch is located along Cherokee Road.
Describe any existing drainage courses or eroded areas on or near the project site: '
A drainage ditch is located along Cherokee Road. The Stockton Diverting Channel is located
approximately 1.7 miles southwest of the project site and Calaveras River is located approximately 0.5
miles north of the project site. There are no eroded areas on or near the project site.
Biological Resources
Describe any wildlife habitat or species on-site:
According to CDFW National Land Cover Database, the site is comprised of cultivated crop land, and
surrounded by other cultivated crop land and developed land (CDFW 2016). Therefore, it is unlikely that
sensitive status species would be on-site. See attached Project Description Section 1.4 for further discussion.
Identify any waterways and/or riparian habitat that may be disturbed by the proposed project: (See Chapter 9-1510 of the
Development Title for Riparian Habitat Regulations):
There are no waterways or riparian habitat on the project site, based on a review of the United States
Geological Survey (USGS) National Hydrography Dataset (NHD), and the USFWS National Wetlands
Inventory (NWI) (USGS 2020, USFWS 2020c).
1Identify any Native Oak trees, Heritage Oak trees or Historical trees that may be disturbed by the proposed project: (See Chapter 9-
1505 of the Development Title for Tree Regulations):
No trees are anticipated to be removed as part of the project. The applicant will conduct a biological
resource survey and prepare a summary memorandum as part of project entitlement. The survey and
summary memorandum will document the location of any native oak, heritage oak, or historical trees on
site to ensure they are avoided and protected during project construction and operation.
Cultural Resources
Describe any items of historical or archaeological interest on-site:
The project site is located immediately west of the City of Stockton. Aerial images indicate the site is half
Ian unpaved parking/staging area and half an orchard. These clear surface disturbances would have
destroyed or obscured any cultural resources on the surface. However, the potential for undiscovered
subsurface cultural resources exists. See attached Project Description Section 1.4 for further discussion.
Page 4of6
Updated 0812812020
