It is proposing two
large storage buildings, and clearly states there will be no increase in employees, and there will be
no plumbing. Because of documents submitted for a previous project, which is believed to have
contradicting statements, this project is being required to do a nitrate loading study. I have
reviewed the documents submitted and make the following observations. I do not propose to be
an expert in this area, so these observations are based upon engineering judgement.
The Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study addendum was provided by"Terracon", dated 5-21-
19, Project No.NA 197005. This project states that the system can be justified for an effluent of
2402 gallons per day for average daily flow, but has the capacity to handle a special event of 6402
gallons on the day of the event. The septic tank capacity is 12,700 gallons. These flows and
capacities are very large.
The water system documents state that the employee and customer occupant load is 89. Using the
gallons per day assumptions (footnote on Table 2 in the SSNLS). The 2404 average daily flow
appears to be adequate.
We would also like to know why this issue was not brought forward with the previous project. In
discussion with the experts,to do a SSNLS for a project with no employees and no plumbing does
not make sense. This issue should have been addressed during the previous project.
We request that a more thorough review of the SSNLS by"Terracon"be performed and identify
where the deficiencies are. With my limited knowledge of these documents, but applying my
engineering expertise, I do not understand why my client has to provide a new study. I cannot see
what would change, or be different from the current study. It would be appreciated if the
erroneous number or incorrect data be specifically identified, so we can provide what is necessary.
In our review, we are very confide sewage disposal system is of adequate size and
meets all standards.
