Construction Quality Assurance$*A)Plan Extension of Closure Cap <br /> Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill August 21,2008 <br /> drawings are also referred to as the "plans" or "construction drawings." <br /> g p g <br /> Contract Documents — The official set of documents issued by the owner, which <br /> includes bidding requirements, contract forms, contract conditions, specifications, <br /> contract drawings, addenda, and contract modifications. <br /> Contractor — The person or persons, firm, partnership, corporation, or any <br /> combination, private, municipal, or public, who as an independent Contractor, has <br /> entered into a contract with the owner to perform work on the project, and who is <br /> referred to throughout the contract documents by singular number and masculine <br /> gender. <br /> Contract Specifications—The qualitative requirements for products, materials, and <br /> workmanship upon which the contract is based. <br /> Design Engineer — The individual(s) or firms responsible for the design and <br /> preparation of the project construction drawings and specifications. Also referred to as <br /> "designer" or "engineer." <br /> Earthwork—A construction activity involving the use of soil materials as defined in <br /> the construction specifications and Section 3 of this Plan. <br /> FCR — Final construction report. <br /> Geosynthetics Contractor—Also referred to as the"Contractor." The person or firm <br /> responsible for geosynthetics construction. This definition applies to any party <br /> installing geomembrane, geocomposite, geonet, GCL, or other geosynthetic material, <br /> even if not his primary function. <br /> GRI - Geosynthetic Research Institute <br /> Non-Conformance—A deficiency in characteristic, documentation,or procedure that <br /> renders the quality of an item or activity unacceptable or indeterminate. Examples of <br /> non-conformance include, but are not limited to, physical defects, test failures, and <br /> inadequate documentation. <br /> Owner — San Joaquin County, Department of Public Works <br /> Owner's Project Manager—Authorized representative of the owner responsible for <br /> planning, organizing, and control of the design and construction activities. <br /> Responsibility includes scheduling, cost control, engineering, procurement, and <br /> contracting functions.
