Construction Quality Assurance A) Plan Extension of Closure Cap
Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill August 21,2008
poor quality. During the progress of the work, density test locations will be plotted on
a drawing by the CQA Monitor to verify that no significant areas are untested. The
drawing will become part of the FCR.
3.4 Monitoring and Testing Requirements
Earthwork components of the construction are summarized in Paragraph 3.1 of this
section. Each component has specific construction requirements that must be
monitored. The following sections list the monitoring requirements for each type of
earthwork.
3.4.1 Clearing and Stripping
♦ Observe that erosion and sediment control silt fences, straw bale barriers,
and other measures are securely in place prior to initiating clearing and
stripping operations in any area.
♦ Observe that existing plant life designated to remain is protected against
damage during construction.
♦ Observe that clearing and stripping in areas required for site access and
execution of the work is complete.
3.4.2 Engineered Fill
♦ Observe that engineered fill is placed in accordance with the lines and
grade shown on the construction drawings.
♦ Observe that material sources are suitable for compacted subgrade.
♦ Observe that fill material is compacted to 90% of the maximum dry
density as determined by ASTM D1557.
♦ Perform tests at testing frequencies specified Table 3-1.
3.4.3 Liner Subgrade Preparation
♦ Observe that material source is suitable for the subgrade, is free of
organic and oversized materials, and meets the grading requirements of
the technical specifications.
Vector Engineering, Inc. .143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valley, CA• (530) 272-2448
-19-
