Genera/ <br /> The objectives of the geosynthetics CQA program are to assure that proper construction <br /> techniques and procedures are used and that the project is completed in accordance <br /> with the project construction drawings and technical specifications. The intent of the <br /> CQA program is to identify and define problems that may occur during construction <br /> and to verify that these problems are corrected before construction is complete. <br /> This section describes CQA procedures for the installation of geosynthetic components. <br /> The following types of geosynthetics will be utilized for this project: <br /> ♦ Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) <br /> CQA for the geosynthetics installations will be performed to verify that geosynthetics <br /> are installed in accordance with the design. Construction must be conducted in <br /> accordance with the project construction drawings and specifications. To monitor <br /> compliance, the CQA Monitor will (i) review the Contractor's quality control <br /> submittals; (ii)perform material conformance testing; (iii)monitor construction testing; <br /> and(iv) monitor installations. Conformance testing refers to activities that take place <br /> before geosynthetics installation. Construction testing includes activities that occur <br /> during geosynthetics installation. <br /> All CQA testing will be conducted in accordance with this CQA Plan, and the project <br /> construction drawings and specifications. If a discrepancy exists in the testing <br /> requirements, the document that requires the most stringent testing will govern. <br /> 4.2 Geosynthetic Clay Liner <br /> 4.2.1 Manufacturing <br /> The GCL Manufacturer will provide the Geosynthetic CQA Consultant with a list of <br /> guaranteed "minimum average roll value" properties for the type of GCL to be <br /> Vector Engineering, Inc. .143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valle CA• 530 272-2448 <br /> 9 9� p 9 Y, ( ) <br /> -21- <br />
