Mr. Kyle Mills <br /> April 9, 202'1 <br /> Page 2 <br /> The law also prohibits anyone from transporting, delivering, or selling discarded major <br /> appliances to a scrap recycling facility unless one of three conditions are mat: <br /> 1. the appliances have not bean processed in a manner that could release, or <br /> prevent the removal of MRSH, and the receivinc scrap metal facility has been <br /> certified by DTSC to remove the remaining MRSH; or <br /> 2. the appliances have been processed in a manner that could release, or prevent <br /> the removal of MRSH, and the person provides written evidence (DTSC Form <br /> '1430) to the scrap metal facility that all MRSH was removed from the appliances <br /> by a CAR prior to processing; or <br /> 3. the appliances were found with some or all of their MRSH already removed <br /> ("orphaned" appliances) and the person transporting them presents the accepting <br /> scrap facility with valid photo identification and provides written certification <br /> (DTSC Form '1459)that ha or she did not process or knowingly have someone <br /> else process the appliance.
