Pagel of 3
Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
From: Joyesh Chandra [Jchandra@sjgov.org]
Sent: Monday, January 30, 2012 8:32 AM
To: Natalia Subbotnikova[EH]
Cc: Michael Carroll
Subject: Edits to Corral Hollow EMP Workplan-Rvesion No 2
Hello Natalia
Below is the clarification from our consultant regarding the bentonite hydrating time for Corral
Hollow's EMP Work plan, revision No 2. This is the same clarification as submitted for the
revision 1. We apologize for not updating the hydrating time in revision No 2.
Based the text, Section 3.4.2, first full paragraph on page 10 states that " After the seal has
been hydrated, it will be allowed to cure for at least 30 minutes prior further well sampling or
construction activities." However, Section 3.4.4, second paragraph states: "After the bentonite
chip seal is constructed, the bentonite will be allowed to hydrate for at least one hour before
additional well development."
For consistency and employing prudent practices of installing an effective bentonite seal, the
text in Section 3.4.2 should be modified to state: " After the seal has been hydrated, it will
e allowed to cure for at least one hour prior further well sampling r construction
activities."
After your approval of the work plan, please fax or e-mail me the approved service request.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks
JOYESH CHANDRA
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
SOLID WASTE DIVISION
PH: (209) 468-3066
Fax: (209) 468-3078
From: John Hower [mailto:jmhower@geo-logic.com]
Sent: Friday, January 27, 2012 3:16 PM
To: Joyesh Chandra
Cc: Michael Carroll
Subject: RE: Edits to Corral Hollow EMP Workplan-RI
Hi Joyesh,
Please forward Sarah's response. I apologize for not getting that corrected in the first place.
John M. Hower,CEG
Supervising Geologist
1/30/2012
