Slips, trips, or falls on pads and <br />surrounding work surfaces. <br />Maintain clean work areas by following good <br />housekeeping procedures. Be alert for uneven <br />surfaces, trip hazards, hazards from pallets. <br />Wear slip resistant foot wear when walking/ <br />working on slippery surfaces. <br />Open and fill drum Eye injury due to flying <br />particulate or liquid splash. <br />Safety glasses with side shields will be worn. <br />Avoid using tools or techniques that would <br />cause material to pop out or fly out of container <br />being opened. <br />If material gets into employee's eye, the eye <br />should be flushed for 15-minutes at an <br />emergency eye wash station immediately. <br />Spills and releases. Ensure spill control kits/supplies are available. <br />Fill only in a designated area. <br />Exposure to chemical <br />contaminants, if any. <br />Review hazards of materials being handled by <br />referring to MSDS. Wear PPE specified in <br />SHSP. <br />Replace drum lid or bung. Improper replacement could <br />cause drum to spill contents. <br />Ensure that rings and lids or bungs are <br />tightened down and secured on intact drums. <br />Inspect for bulging and/or leaking drums.
