Site Safety and Health Plan <br />Stockton Field Maintenance Shop #24 <br />8020 Airport Way, Stockton, CA <br /> <br />5.6 SPECIAL TRAINING <br />In addition to daily safety meetings, quarterly or semiannual meetings will be held on an as- <br />needed basis. The meetings will include hands-on training and will consist of all or some of the <br />following: <br />First aid (heat and cold stress, shock, heart attack, and stroke) <br />Accident prevention and emergency rescue and preparedness <br />Respiratory protection and fit testing <br />Fire emergencies <br />Use of PPE <br />Hazard assessment <br />Emergency communication (phone numbers, personnel rules, evacuation routes) <br />Basic toxicology and toxicity information (employee notification) <br />MSDS information <br /> <br />5.7 HAZARD COMMUNICATION <br />Site-specific hazard communication will be provided on site by the SSHO. MSDS or chemical <br />substance fact sheets will be maintained on site for the major site contaminants and for any <br />hazardous materials purchased for use at the sites (Appendix C). The labeling provisions of 29 <br />CFR 1910.1200 and 8 OCR 5194 will be followed at the sites (see Section 16.0). <br /> <br />5.8 SUBCONTRACTOR TRAINING <br />All subcontractors entering the FMS will certify that their employees have successfully <br />completed the appropriate training before undertaking site work. Such certification must include <br />documented evidence that each subcontractor employee has successfully completed basic <br />training and refresher courses that satisfy the requirements in 29 CFR 1910.120 and 8 OCR <br />5192. <br />This certification record will be stored in the field along with other documents. Additional job- <br />specific, on-site training and safety briefings, as discussed in the other sections, will be <br />performed and documented by Star. <br /> <br />5.9 VISITOR'S BRIEFING <br />All site visitors who will be in the support zone, if only for short periods of time, will be briefed by <br />Star personnel. The visitor's briefing will include the hazards associated with the site, <br />emergency procedures and the use of PPE. Visitors will not be permitted to enter the <br />monitoring area unless documentation of successful completion of 29 CFR 1910.120 (8 OCR <br />5192) training and medical clearance is presented to the SSHO.
