Site Safety and Health Plan
Stockton Field Maintenance Shop #24
8020 Airport Way, Stockton, CA
6.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

6.1 GENERAL
Selection of appropriate PPE will be based on the contaminant type(s), concentration(s) and
routes of exposure. All potential exposures will be considered in the selection of appropriate
protection levels to provide adequate worker protection. The major objectives of the PPE
programs are to select appropriate and approved PPE for the hazards; to ensure that the
devices are introduced to users with a clear and complete explanation of their protection value
and method of proper use; and to assign supervisory responsibility ensuring proper use and
continued maintenance of the devices. All workers using respirators will have a yearly
qualitative fit test and will meet all requirements for use under 29 CFR 1910.134(8 OCR 5144).

6.2 LEVELS OF PROTECTION AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate PPE will be worn according to pre-determined material exposure levels. The
required safety equipment and clothing must be available on site before work is to begin. At a
minimum, non-respiratory PPE will consist of standard work clothes (shirts with long sleeves
and pants), steel toe and shank boots, chemical-resistant gloves, and hard hats. Work
conducted in the immediate vicinity of operating water pumps (within 15 feet) will require
hearing protection. If wet conditions are anticipated and contact or splash hazards exist, Tyvek
QCTM or similar polyethylene coated disposable coveralls and chemical/splash goggles will be
worn. The following equipment shall be maintained throughout the duration of site work for
groundwater sampling. All items shall be available to site personnel.
Boot covers (optional)
Neoprene over-boot (optional)
Steel toe/shank safety boot
Safety hard hats
Tyvek OCT"' or similar polyethylene coated disposable coveralls (optional)
Safety glasses/chemical splash goggles
Latex or nitrile inner gloves (optional)
Nitrile outer gloves
Work gloves
Ear plugs or earmuffs
The following PPE levels have been set for site activities. However, the choice of PPE should
be based on the potential hazard and the magnitude thereof:
Level D: For vapor sampling at Stockton FMS #24, required PPE include:
Safety hard hat
Safety boots (steel toe/shank)
Work gloves (leather or synthetic)
Safety glasses
Ear plugs or earmuffs (when DPT rig is in operation)
Standard work clothes (shirts with sleeves and long pants)
22 Star Resources Corp
