WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS ORDER NO. 7 <br />WILLIAM LONG, SCOTT LONG, AND <br />LONG RANCH, INC. <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />Animal holding pens, barns, and sheds, and manure storage area shall be protected from <br />overflow from stream channels during 100-year peak stream flows: <br />4. All precipitation from roofed areas, including the holding pens, barns, sheds, and _ <br />slaughterhouse, shall be collected and diverted away from manured areas through the <br />stormwater disposal system. <br />Areas containing manure shall be managed to minimize percolation of manured water <br />into soil. <br />6. Drained blood shall be segregated from all rinsewaters. <br />The 30-day average daily dry-weather discharge to the wastewater holding pond shall <br />not exceed 10,100 gallons. <br />The wastewater holding pond shall be designed, operated, and maintained to ensure that <br />wastes will be approximately 5 feet above the highest anticipated elevation of <br />underlying groundwater. <br />A 2 foot freeboard (from the wastewater) shall be maintained in the wastewater holding <br />pond at all times. <br />Public contact with wastewater shall be precluded through such means as fences, signs, <br />and other acceptable alternatives. <br />Wastewater shall be discharged to the designated disposal area in agronomic rates and <br />shall not exceed the average monthly evapotranspiration of the cropland. <br />The discharge from the wastewater treatment pond shall remain within the designated <br />disposal areas at all times. <br />There shall be no visible standing water in the designated disposal area for more than 48 <br />hours in any consecutive 7-day period. <br />Application of wastewater to cropland shall be managed to minimize percolation to <br />groundwater. <br />Excessively objectionable odors originating from the facility operations shall not be <br />detectable beyond the limits of the property owned by the Discharger and the adjacent <br />properties used as designated disposal areas.
