WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS ORDER NO. 8 <br />WILLIAM LONG, SCOTT LONG, AND <br />LONG RANCH, INC. <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />The waste management methods and procedures shall be conducted in accordance with <br />the requirements of Sections 22560 to 22565 of Title 27 of the CCR. <br />Neither the treatment nor the discharge shall cause a nuisance or condition of pollution <br />as defined by the California Water Code, Section 13050. <br />C. Solids Disposal: <br />Collected manure, screenings, sludges, and other solids removed from liquid wastes <br />shall be disposed of in a manner that is consistent with Title 27, Division 2, <br />Subdivision 1 of the CCR and approved by the Executive Officer. <br />The average 30-day daily discharge of manure to the covered storage area shall not <br />exceed 180 cubic feet. <br />Buildup of offal, screenings, fats, and greases from the slaughterhouse operations shall <br />be retained until sent off site for inedible rendering. <br />Any proposed change in solids use or disposal practice from a previously approved <br />practice shall be reported to the Executive Officer and U.S. Environmental Protection • <br />Agency Regional Administrator at least 90 days in advance of the change. <br />D. Ground Water Limitations: <br />The discharge shall not cause the underlying groundwater to: <br />Contain waste constituents in concentrations statistically greater than receiving water <br />limits or background water quality where not specified. (For purposes of comparison, <br />background water quality shall be determined when background monitoring provides <br />sufficient data. Quality determined in this manner establishes "water quality protection <br />standards.") <br />Contain taste or odor-producing substances in concentrations that adversely affect <br />beneficial uses. <br />Contain concentrations of chemical constituents in amounts that adversely affect <br />agricultural use.
