Photo 4: Building 129 (barracks). This vacant building is unsafe for occupation
because paint is peeling from the exterior wall and fascia boards. As discussed in
Section B of the Report, deteriorating paint is a health hazard as the peeling of
asbestos and lead based paint may release airborne fibers that can be inhaled and
pose a health threat.
Photo 5: Building 219 (barracks). This is another building that contains asbestos
and cannot be inhabited unless the contamination is removed. The building shows
signs of deterioration as windows and doors are boarded up. In addition, the building
served as a barracks and is not functional for modern port and commercial operation.
ROSENOW SPEVACEK GROUP, INC.
