Title 22 1/93 <br />any number of nonresident individuals at least 60 days of the year, <br />but no yearlong residents. <br />"Repeat sample" means a required sample collected <br />following a total conform-positive sample. <br />"Replacement sample" means a sample collected to <br />replace an invalidated sample. <br />"Routine sample" means a bacteriological sample the <br />water supplier is required to collect on a regular basis, or one <br />which the supplier is required to collect for a system not in <br />compliance with Section 64650 when treated water turbidity exceeds <br />1 nephelometric turbidity unit (NTU), pursuant to section 64423(b). <br />"Sanitary survey" means an on-site review of a public <br />water system for the purpose of evaluating the adequacy of the water <br />source, facilities, equipment, operation and maintenance for <br />producing and distributing safe drinking water. <br />"Significant rise in bacterial count" means an <br />increase in coliform bacteria, as determined in Section 64426, when <br />associated with a suspected waterborn illness or disruption of <br />physical works or operating procedures. <br />"Standby source" means a source which is used only <br />for emergency purposes and for less than 15 calendar days per year, <br />with periods of use not to exceed five consecutive days. <br />"Total coliform-positive" means -a sample result in <br />which the presence of total coliforms has beert demonstrated. <br />"Treatment" means physical, biological, or chemical <br />processes, including blending, designed to affect water quality <br />parameters to render the water acceptable for domestic use. <br />(1) "Vulnerable system" means a water system which has <br />any water source which in the judgment of the Department, has a risk <br />of being contaminated by organic chemicals, based on an assessment <br />as set forth in Section 64412. <br />"Water source" means an individual groundwater source <br />or an individual surface water intake. Sources which have not been <br />designated as standby sources shall be deemed to be water sources. <br />"Water supplier," "person operating a public water <br />system" or "supplier of water" means any person who owns or operates <br />a public water system.
