Grndwater 9169333197 P.04
MONITORING WELL (MW-6) DECOMMISSIONING WORK PLAN
2115 WEST WASHINGTON STREET
Stockton, CALIFORNIA
1-9 INTRODUCTION
PM Ag Products, Incorporated (PM Ag) owns and operates an animal feed product facility at 2115
West Washington Street, Stockton, California (Figures 1 and 2). In 1991, several hundred tons of
feed-product-stained soil was sampled, tested, excavated, and removed from the West Washington
Street site. A 28-foot, 2-inch-diameter, monitoring well was installed to monitor possible ground
water contamination. The well was sampled periodically from 1991 through 1994. Water samples
showed very low levels of nitrates and other nitrogen-bearing compounds. The well currently serves
DO purpose.
2.0 PURPOSE
The monitoring well (MW-6) at 2.115 West Washington Street will be decommissioned to protect
local ground-water quality and preclude possible vandalism.
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
Sierra-Pacific will manage the decommissioning of the shallow monitoring well (MW-6). The work
will involve removal of the well casing, over-boring to a depth of 29 feet, and tremmie-grouting with
bentonite/cement slurry. The work will be done by a licensed drilling contractor experienced in
decommissioning wells in accordance with San Joaquin County well decommissioning procedures.
3.1 field_lttlons.
Field preparations will include a pre-construction meeting, telephone conversations, and
correspondence with various parties, including: PM Ag Products, San Joaquin County, and the
Central Valley-Regional Water Quality Control 13oard (RWQCB). After receiving written approval
1
