Tanks will contain calcium chloride solution when used. <br />Tanks currently not in use. <br />Implication should leaks occur in the <br />future from these tanks. <br />SITE HISTORY <br />Overview of Historical Site Activities, <br />Company History, and Business <br />Operations <br />Site vacant prior to building of terminal for bulk oil storage in 1938. Site development has <br />expanded to the southern portion of the property since 1978. The facility is used primarily <br />for molasses storage received and distributed from third parties via dock lines, trucks, or <br />railroad tanker. Ships, trucks, and railroad tankers are third party owned. <br />None <br />Site Development History According to Mr. Dale Matthews, the property was purchased and developed in 1930's by <br />the Pacific Molasses Company. The property was undeveloped land prior to development <br />of the current tank farm. The topographic map from 1913 does not show any structures or <br />development on the vacant property. <br />The earliest aerial photograph available from 1957 shows four large ASTs and one smaller <br />AST. The smaller storage building is visible in the northern portion of the property. The <br />building which currently houses. the old, unused boiler is visible near the center of the <br />property. No other structures are visible. <br />The 1970 aerial photograph shows an additional AST on the property. The main office <br />and storage building is visible in the northern portion of the property. <br />The 1994 aerial photograph shows numerous ASTs on the property, similar to the current <br />layout.
