APPENDIX B <br />THE TWINING LABORATORIES, INC <br />PROJECT/SITE HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN <br />The operations site safety plan for the Twining personnel assigned to the project are discussed in the <br />following subsections. <br />It is the responsibility of all Twining personnel associated with the project to familiarize themselves <br />with this site safety plan. <br />B-1 Potential Health and Safety Hazards: Information developed regarding the site indicates that <br />petroleum products are the potentially hazardous substance that has been stored on-site. <br />Symptoms of direct exposure to significant concentrations of petroleum products may include: eye, <br />nose, or skin irritation, nausea, and unconsciousness. <br />If any of these symptoms develop, operations will be stopped immediately and medical attention will <br />be obtained, as necessary. <br />First aid procedures for direct exposure to the on-site materials are: <br />• Skin: Remove contaminated clothing immediately. Flush affected area <br />immediately with water, then wash with soap and water. <br />• Eyes: Hold eyelid open and flush the eye with water. <br />• Respiratory System: Move to fresh air immediately. Give artificial respiration as <br />necessary. <br />A list of emergency telephone numbers and contacts for emergencies requiring fire, police, and/or <br />ambulance response is summarized in Table B-1. A map of the location of the nearest emergency <br />medical facility in relation to the site is shown in back of this health and safety plan.
