08 February 2007 <br />AGE-NC Project No. 07- 1 5 08 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />2.2. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br />AGE proposes to advance two soil borings at the site. Each boring shall be advanced to a depth of <br />approximately 50 feet bsg. Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals. The proposed probe <br />boring locations may be modified due to field observations. <br />The proposed probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Field procedures for advancement <br />of probe borings and collection of soil samples are presented in Sections 3.1 and 3.2. <br />Selected soil samples may be submitted for laboratory analysis. The selected samples will be <br />analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for one <br />or more the following constituents: <br />Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in <br />accordance with EPA Method 8015M; and <br />Purgeable aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes: BTEX), in accordance <br />with EPA Method 8260B. <br />Fuel additives, including di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), methyl <br />tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary-butyl alcohol <br />(TBA), 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), and 1,2-dicholoroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with <br />EPA Method 8260B. <br />Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br />(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br />findings and recommendations. <br />2.3. GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION <br />If ground water is encountered during the soil assessment activities, ground water samples will be <br />collected from selected borings. Ground water sample collection procedures are presented in Section <br />3.3. <br />Selected groundwater samples may be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for one or more of the <br />following constituents: <br />TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015M; and <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
