Remediation, Inc. in the form of 5 gal. Alhambra drinking water containers. Enough <br /> water will be brought suitable for the size of crew working on site. <br /> SECTION 6.0 <br /> SITE OPERATING PROCEDURES <br /> A: Initial Site Entry Procedures <br /> 1. Locate nearest available telephone. Indicate location on Site Map or <br /> tailgate form. <br /> 2. Determine wind direction; establish hotline, and set-up decontamination <br /> facilities. Note wind direction and location of decontamination facilities <br /> on Site Map. <br /> 3. Post Emergency Information. Confirm/post emergency phone numbers <br /> and hospital route. <br /> 4. Designate at least one vehicle for emergency use. <br /> 5. If toilet facilities are not located within a 5 minute walk from the <br /> decontamination facilities, either provide a chemical toilet and hand <br /> washing facilities, or have vehicle available (not the emergency vehicle) <br /> for transport to nearby facilities. <br /> 6. Prior to working on site, conduct an inspection for physical and chemical <br /> hazards. <br /> 7. Conduct or review utility clearance prior to start of work, if appropriate. <br /> 8. Note any specialized protocols particular to work tasks associated with the <br /> project. <br /> B: Daily Operating Procedures <br /> 1. Hold daily Tailgate Safety Meetings prior to start of work. <br /> (See Attachment 3 for Tailgate Safety Meeting Form) <br /> 2. Use monitoring instruments and follow designated protocol and <br /> contaminant action levels. <br /> 3. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as specified. <br /> 4. Remain upwind of operations and airborne contaminants, if possible. <br /> 5. Establish a work/rest regime when ambient temperatures and protective <br /> clothing create a potential heat stress hazard. <br /> 6. Do not carry cigarettes, gum, etc., into contaminated areas. <br /> 7. Refer to Site Safety Officer for specific concerns for each individual site <br /> task. <br /> 8. ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM <br /> 9. Be alert to your own physical condition. Watch buddy for signs of <br /> fatigue, exposure, etc. <br />
