CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> ORDER NO. 90-065 <br /> NPDES NO. CA0082325 <br /> WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> FOR <br /> GOLDEN GATE FRESH FOODS INC. , dba VICTOR FINE FOODS <br /> INTERIM GROUND WATER CLEANUP <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, <br /> (hereafter Board) finds that: <br /> 1 . Golden Gate Fresh Foods Inc. , doing business as Victor Fine Foods, <br /> (hereafter Discharger) has requested an extension of Waste Discharge <br /> Requirements Order No. 88-193 (NPDES No. CA0082325) , as amended by Special <br /> Order No. 89-037 (corporate name change) , in order to continue the <br /> extraction and discharge of polluted ground water to surface water until <br /> construction of the final disposal method by deep well injection has been <br /> completed. <br /> 2. The Discharger processes and packages meat products at its 60-acre facility <br /> about one mile north of Lodi , in Section 31 , T4N, R7E, MDB&M, as shown on <br /> Attachment A, which is incorporated herein and made part of this Order. <br /> 3. The Discharger proposes to continue to discharge a blend of up to 250 gpm <br /> (0.36 mgd) of ground water polluted with total dissolved solids (TDS) and <br /> low TDS, non-polluted ground water to the Mokelumne River, a water of the <br /> United States. After blending, the ground water will be discharged at a <br /> point about one mile north of Lodi , in the Mokelumne River, via a six-inch <br /> pipeline. The discharge point is noted as Point 001 on Attachment A. <br /> 4. The proposed discharge is described as follows: <br /> Polluted Blending <br /> Ground Water Source Discharge <br /> Flow 100 gpm 150 gpm 250 gpm <br /> (0. 144 mgd) (0.216 mgd) (0.36 mgd) <br /> TDS 2,600 mg/1' 150 mg/1 1 , 130 mg/l <br /> Chlorides 560 mg/1' 15 mg/l 233 mg/l <br /> BOD 2.0 mg/1' <br /> COD 6.7 mg/1' <br /> Based on average values from MW-1B, MW-5A and Mayers old shallow <br /> agricultural well . <br />
