i <br /> Evaluation of Hydrocarbons May 17, 1990 <br /> Waterfront Redevelopment, Stockton, California AGS 39048-2W <br /> Soil Borings and Sampling <br /> Eight soil borings will be drilled at the site to further evaluate the lateral extent of <br /> hydrocarbons previously detected and to evaluate areas at the site which have not previously <br /> been investigated. One soil boring will be drilled directly west of the site on the former L <br /> & M Petroleum Site to evaluate if the L & M property (located upgradient) may be <br /> contributing to the detected hydrocarbons. We will obtain authorization to drill this soil <br /> boring and construct the well prior to commencing work. If we cannot obtain authorization <br /> to construct this well offsite, we will drill this soil boring and construct the well directly <br /> west of existing monitoring well MW-1 at the Waterfront Redevelopment Property <br /> boundary. The locations of the proposed soil borings and monitoring well are on Plate P- <br /> 2. <br /> Prior to conducting work at the site, appropriate permits will be acquired from the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services Department. Applied GeoSystems will contact <br /> Underground Services Alert to help locate public utility lines at the site before <br /> commencement of drilling. <br /> Soil borings will be drilled using conventional hollow-stem auger drilling methods. Auger <br /> flights and sampling equipment will be steam-cleaned before use to minimize the possibility <br /> of contamination among borings.
