Evaluation of Hydrocarbons May 17, 1990 <br /> Waterfront Redevelopment, Stockton, California AGS 39048-2W <br /> Gradient Calculations <br /> The ground-water gradient will be evaluated to provide an indication of the direction of <br /> groundwater flow and gradient at the site. The ground-water monitoring wells will be <br /> surveyed to the nearest 0.01 foot by a land surveyor licensed in the State of California to <br /> reference differences in elevation between the tops of the well casings to a known local <br /> benchmark. Water-depth measurements will be taken in each onsite monitoring well with <br /> an electric water-level indicator. These data will be combined to evaluate the elevation of <br /> the ground-water surface in each well, the slope of the groundwater gradient, and the <br /> inferred direction of ground-water flow across the site. <br /> Additional Tasks <br /> After interpreting the field and laboratory data and evaluating the extent of hydrocarbons <br /> in the subsurface, additional soil borings and ground-water monitoring wells may be <br /> recommended to evaluate further the extent of hydrocarbons. Locations of addition borings <br /> and wells will be selected on the basis of the results of this work. Additional work will be <br /> completed with authorization of the appropriate regulatory agencies and the City of <br /> Stockton Redevelopment Agency.
