This design <br /> discourages vandalism and reduces the possibility of accidental <br /> disturbance of the well. <br /> Ground-Water Sampling <br /> Water samples will be collected for subjective analysis before <br /> purging and developing monitoring wells. A sample will be <br /> collected from the ground-water surface in each well with a <br /> Teflon bailer cleaned with Alconox and deionized water. Any <br /> subjective evidence of product detected in the well will be <br /> recorded. If no floating product is detected, the wells will be <br /> developed and purged, and ground-water samples will be collected <br /> for laboratory analysis. <br /> After an initial water-level measurement, the wells will be <br /> developed by manually raising and lowering a PVC surge-block <br /> assembly cleaned with Alconox, followed by pumping to remove the <br /> silty water and sediment entering the well . After development <br /> the wells will be allowed to stabilize for 48 hours as required <br /> by the San Joaquin Local Health District. Following that time, <br /> the wells will be purged of 3 to 4 well volumes of water using a <br /> submersible pump. During purging the ground water will be <br /> 15 <br /> Applied GeoSystems <br />
