J
GENESIS ENGINEERING&REDEVELOPMENT
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Sampling and Analysis Plan ("SAP") covers the work associated with the Site Investigation
Work Plan for the DePaoli Property located in Holt, California("Site"). Genesis Engineering&
Redevelopment, LLC ("GE&R")will implement this SAP in conjunction with the Site
Investigation Work Plan and supporting documents; including the Quality Assurance Project
Plan (Appendix C of the Site Investigation Work Plan) and the Health and Safety Plan
(Appendix D of the Site Investigation Work Plan). Data Quality Objectives for this Project are
provided in the Quality Assurance Project Plan ("QAPP"). This SAP contains a discussion of
the field and laboratory activities associated with the planned Site Investigation Work Plan.
Information on the specific sampling locations, sample matrices, and the number of samples is
provided in the Site Investigation Work Plan.
2.0 FIELD PROGRAM
2.1 Field Activities Summary
The general Tasks associated with implementation of the Site Investigation Work Plan include:
1. Native Soil Investigation
Investigate potential impacts to native soils beneath the drilling mud; advance 24
borings (DP-1 through DP-24) at the locations shown on Figure B-1 and collect 3 soil
samples from each boring—at 1 foot below the drilling mud, 3 feet below the drilling
D mud, and in the vadose zone immediately above the shallow water bearing unit;
record soil lithology for each boring; analyze the soil samples for the constituents
listed in Section 3.1.
2. Drilling Mud Investigation
Investigate the mobility of the diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons in the Disposal
Site through analysis of the length of the hydrocarbon chains. The same 24 borings
used to collect the native soil samples will be used to collect the drilling mud samples
(Figure B-1). One composite drilling mud sample will be collected from each boring.
The sample will be collected as a four-foot section of core taken from the
approximate center of the distance between the top and bottom of the drilling mud.
The composite drilling mud samples will be analyzed for the constituents listed in
Section 3.2.
Sampling and Analysis Plan 1 of 24
DePaoli Property
November 14,2007
