GENESIS ENGINEERING&REDEVELOPMENT
of the Site. Off-site groundwater samples were analyzed for metals, including chromium
(VI). The analytical results of the Off-Site groundwater samples are presented in Table
A-10. Sample locations are depicted on Figure A-10.
Environmental Resource Management
In June 1997, Environmental Resource Management ("ERM") conducted a soil and
groundwater investigation involving the installation of 17 GeoProbe soil borings
(including 2 background borings) and collecting 34 soil and 6 groundwater samples. Soil
samples were collected at approximately 2 and 6 to 7 feet bgs in all of the borings.
Groundwater samples were collected at 6 of the soil sampling locations selected to
provide a preliminary profile of the shallow aquifer underlying the site. All soil and
groundwater samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel and
gasoline using U.S. EPA Method 8015 Modified;benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylenes(`BTEX"); methyl-tert-butyl ether("MTBE") using U.S. EPA Method
8020; volatile organic compounds ("VOC")using U.S. EPA Method 8010; semivolatile
organic compounds ("SVOC")using U.S. EPA Method 8270; and California Code of
Regulations Title 22 metals using U.S. EPA Method 6010. The analytical results of the
soil samples are similar to those reported in earlier investigations. Previous
investigations did not collect and analyze grab groundwater samples; as such,
comparisons could not be made. The analytical results for the soil samples are presented
in Table A-11 (analysis of organic compounds) and Table A-12 (analysis of Title 22
metals); analytical results for the groundwater samples are presented in Table A-13
(analysis of organic compounds) and Table A-14 (analysis of Title 22 metals). Sample
locations are depicted on corresponding Figures A-11,A-12, and A-13.
In December 1998, ERM conducted a follow-up investigation of the southern parcel
consisting of soil sampling using a GeoProbe sampling unit. The follow-up
investigation was intended to provide additional characterization of the drilling mud. A
total of 8 soil borings were advanced with two samples collected from each boring(at
approximately 2 and 6 to 7 feet bgs). No groundwater samples were collected during this
investigation.
Selected soil samples were submitted for one or more of the following analyses: Title 22
Metals using U.S. EPA Method 6010; Total Barium, Chromium,Mercury, and Lead
using U.S. EPA Method 6000/7000 series; Waste Extraction Test("WET")using citric
acid for sample extraction and analysis for Barium, Chromium, Mercury, and Lead using
U.S. EPA Method 6000/7000 series; Modified WET using deionized water for sample
extraction and analysis for Barium, Chromium, hexavalent Chromium, Mercury, and
Site Investigation Work Plan 6 of 18
DePaoli Property
November 14,2007
