1
F
GENESIS ENGINEERING & REDEVELOPMENT
2.0 SITE CHARACTERIZATION TASKS
This Work Plan has been developed to p_ovidc''. r information required in the RWQCB
April 19, 2000 letter and to respond to the data gaps identified by the RWQCB and
DTSC in the November 2, 2000 Draft Site Investigation Work Plan (ERM 2000). The
Work Plan approach includes:
1. Native Soil Investigation
a. Investigate potential impacts to native soils underlying the drilling mud
b. Investigate constituent concentrations in off-Site"background" soils
2. Drilling Mud Investigation
a. Investigate the mobility of the diesel range petroleum hydrocarbons in the
Disposal Site through analysis of the length of the hydrocarbon chains
b. Investigate if the extractable concentrations of Title 22 metals and
Hexavalent Chromium in the waste drilling mud are below the applicable
water quality standards
3. Groundwater Investigation
a. Decommission six existing Monitoring Wells, MW-3 through MW-8, in
accordance with San Joaquin County procedures
b. Install and sample 6 replacement Monitoring Wells (MW-1 through MW-
6) in the approximate locations of the decommissioned Monitoring Wells
c. Investigate constituent concentrations in off-Site"background"
groundwater
4. Surface Water Investigation
a. Investigate the chemical composition of any surface water or potential
runoff
5. Tidal Influence Study
a. Conduct a tidal influence study on the uppermost water bearing unit to
establish if there is tidal flux in the unit
Site Investigation Work Plan 8 of 18
DePaoli Property
November 14,2007
