GENESIS ENGINEERING &REDEVELOPMENT
The drilling mud sample extractions will be analyzed for:
1. Title 22 Metals and Hexavalent Chromium.
The analytical procedures, sample volumes, sample preservation, and holding times are
presented in the Sampling and Analysis Plan.
2.3 Task 3 — Groundwater Investigation
Since the existing groundwater monitoring wells were observed to be in a state of
disrepair,prompting a general concern that they may become a source of impairment to
the groundwater quality and/or constitute a safety hazard, the RWQCB and DTSC
deemed it necessary to destroy the wells in compliance with the well destruction
requirements set forth in San Joaquin County Well Standards (San Joaquin County
Ordinance Code Section 9-1115.6), dated February 2005. A Work Plan for Monitoring
Well Destruction, DePaoli Property in included as Appendix E.
Six new groundwater monitoring wells will be installed in the approximate locations of
the destroyed wells. The monitoring wells will be installed in accordance with the
procedures in the Sampling and Analysis Plan. Continuous logging of the soil lithology
will be performed for each monitoring well.
Following development of the monitoring wells, samples will be collected in accordance
with the procedures in the Sampling and Analysis Plan. The groundwater samples will
be analyzed for the following constituents:
1. Volatile Organic Compounds ("VOC");
2. Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds ("SVOC");
3. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline ("TPHg");
4. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel ("TPHd");
5. Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene (`BTEX");
6. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons("PAH");
7. Oil and Grease;
8. Title 22 Metals and Hexavalent Chromium; and
9. Alkalinity, Calcium, Chloride,pH, Sodium, Potassium, Sulfate, Sulfide, Total
Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness, and Conductivity.
Site Investigation Work Plan 12 of 18
DePaoli Property
November 14,2007
