.r-
GENESIS ENGINEERING& REDEVELOPMENT
well placed in Whiskey Slough. The water level will be monitored continuously for a 1
week period. If groundwater level fluctuations based on tidal influence are identified, the
study will be terminated and the issues of groundwater flow on the movement of impacts
r':om the Site will be addressed. If groundwater level fluctuations based on tidal
influence are not identified, the study will continue for a period of one month. Based on
the results of the extended study period, the study will either be terminated(if influences
are identified) and the issues addressed or the study will continue, with water level
measurements recorded during quarterly groundwater sampling events. The water level
fluctuations will be reported in the quarterly groundwater monitoring report.
To provide additional supporting information for the study of water level fluctuations,
large pumping facilities near the Site will be mapped and their production capacities
tabulated if available. Local delta groundwater studies (available from State agencies,
Port Districts, ABAG, COE , BuRec, or other agencies)will be reviewed to compare tidal
influences in similar delta deposits. The potential influence of the Mokelume Aqueduct
will be evaluated if it is found to be unlined in the project area
2.6 Task 6—Vertical Gradients
To determine the vertical gradient between the upper water bearing units below the Site a
cluster of three piezometers will be installed on the east side of the property; see Figure 4.
The data from these three piezometers will be used to calculate the vertical hydraulic
gradients between the distinct water bearing units under the Site.
A Cone Penetration Test("CPT")boring will be advanced in the location selected for the
piezometer cluster to determine the depths and thicknesses of the water bearing units
under the Site and to determine the appropriate screening interval of each piezometer.
Based on the results of the CPT boring, the depths of the three piezometers will be
determined.
Site Investigation Work Plan 14 of 18
DePaoli Property
November 14,2007
