A.
GENESIS ENGINEERING& REDEVELOPMENT
3.0 IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE
Upon approval of this Site Investigation Work Plan by the R A7Q('.'B and DTSC, GE&R
will initiate implementation of the Work Plan in Phases.
Phase I
Phase I will involve (i) abandonment of the existing monitoring wells; (ii) advancing the
CPT boring; and (iii) advancing 3 of the direct-push borings.
The existing 6 monitoring wells will be abandoned in accordance with San Joaquin
County procedures. The CPT boring will be advanced during Phase I to provide the
needed data for the installation of the new monitoring wells (Task 3) and piezometers
(Task 6). In addition, 3 of the Direct-Push borings will be advanced in locations that
correspond to historical data points. Depth specific native soil samples and composite
drilling mud samples will be collected from these borings along with grab groundwater
samples and soil samples from the shallow water bearing unit. The results of the analyses
of the native soil, drilling mud, and groundwater samples will be compared to the
available historical analytical data. Based on this comparison, modifications to the Site
Investigation Work Plan may be recommended. The soil samples collected from the
shallow water bearing unit will be sent to the laboratory for a sieve analysis; to provide
data for selection of the screen slot size used in the monitoring wells (Task 3).
The Phase of the field investigation will take up to 5 to 6 days to complete. Samples will
be submitted to the selected analytical laboratory for the specified analyses on a daily
basis. It will typically take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to complete the laboratory
analyses. Upon receipt of the finalized laboratory reports, the data will be reviewed,
validated, and uploaded into the site database.
Phase II
Task 1 (Native Soil Sampling), Task 2 (Drilling Mud Sampling), and Task 3 (Installation
of Groundwater Monitoring Wells) will commence with pre-field activities (final
research activities, permitting, verifying and marking boring locations, and clearing
proposed boring locations for utilities and underground obstructions),which may take up
to two weeks to complete. Simultaneously during that period, negotiations and contract
administration activities will commence for securing the services of a drilling contractor
and analytical laboratory, and a preliminary field schedule will be developed based on
Site Investigation Work Plan 15 of 18
DePaoli Property
November 14,2007
