If the pulse rate exceeds 110 beats per minute, the next work period <br /> will be shortened by one-third. <br /> One or more of the following precautions will reduce the risk of heat stress on the Site: <br /> • Provide plenty of liquids to replace lost body fluids; water, electrolytic drinks, or <br /> both will be made available to minimize the risk of dehydration and heat stress <br /> • Establish a work schedule that will provide appropriate rest periods <br /> 0 Establish work regimens consistent with the American Conference of <br /> Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) guidelines <br /> • Provide adequate employee training on the causes of heat stress and preventive <br /> measures <br /> In the highly unlikely event of extreme low temperatures, reasonable precautions will be made to <br /> avoid risks associated with low temperature exposure. <br /> 3.3.8 Traffic <br /> Field activities may occur near or in public roadways. As a result, vehicular traffic will be a <br /> potential hazard during these activities and control of these areas will be established using <br /> barricades or traffic cones. Additional staff will be assigned for the sole purpose of coordinating <br /> traffic. Personnel will also be required to wear high-visibility traffic vests while working in the <br /> vicinity of the public roadways and local requirements for lane closure will be observed as <br /> needed. All work in public rights-of-way will be coordinated with local Public Works <br /> Departments, or similar entities, and will adhere to their requirements for working in traffic <br /> zones. <br /> 3.3.9 Electric Shock <br /> All electrical equipment to be used during field activities will be suitably grounded and <br /> insulated. Ground fault circuit interrupters will be utilized with all heavy electrical equipment to <br /> reduce the potential for electrical shock. <br /> 3.3.10 Hazardous Weather Conditions <br /> All Site workers will be made aware of hazardous weather conditions, specifically including <br /> extreme heat, and WILL BE ASKED to take the precautions described herein to avoid adverse <br /> health risks.
