LFG Well Lateral <br /> 1. Trenches <br /> Barrier layer shall not be disturbed. If disturbed, the Contractor shall <br /> remove the disturbed material and replace it with bentonite. <br /> 2. Trench Backfill <br /> a. Sand bedding shall be compacted using a vibratory plate compactor. <br /> b. Soil backfill in the lateral trench on the top deck of the landfill shall be <br /> moistened and compacted with a jumping-jack compactor. Soil <br /> backfill in lateral trenches on the side slopes shall be compacted with <br /> a vibratory plate. <br /> B. Lateral-to-Header Connection <br /> 1. Connect all new dual LFG well laterals to the existing 6" HDPE SDR <br /> 17 header on the side of the landfill. <br /> 2.
