k" KLEINFELDER
ATTACHMENT A
SCOPE OF WORK
Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation
Tradeway Chevrolet
1460 East Yosemite Avenue
Manteca, California 95336
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This proposal was developed after discussion with Mr. Bing Kirk of AKF Development, LLC,
and is a preliminary understanding of AKF Development's desires. This proposal was based on
information usually requested in a workplan by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Department Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and the Central Valley Office of the
State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB).
Kleinfelder is committed to providing quality service to its clients, commensurate with their
wants, needs and desired level of risk. If a portion of this proposal does not meet the needs of
AKF Development, or if those needs have changed, Kleinfelder will consider appropriate
modifications, subject to the standards of care to which we adhere as professionals.
Modifications such as changes in scope, methodology, scheduling, and contract terms may result
in changes to the risks assumed by AKF Development as well as adjustments to our fees.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
2.1 Permitting and Pre-Field Activities
It has been Kleinfelder's experience that this proposal contains sufficient detail and information to
be submitted to San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) to review and approve a boring/well permit. Kleinfelder can prepare a
boring/well permit application, a proposed boring/well location map, and a health and safety plan
for submittal along with this proposal to PHS/EHD. Additionally, the permits must be approved
prior to drilling the borings. Following obtaining approval from the PHS/EHD, Kleinfelder will
commence with the actual assessment. Please note that Kleinfelder can not commence with the
actual field work until the proposed scope of work and the PHS/EHD permit have been
approved. Additionally, PHS/EHD will bill AKF Development for their time spent on the
proj ect.
2.2 Drilling of Three Soil Borings and Monitoring Well Installation
Three (3) soil borings will be advanced to a maximum depth of approximately 30 feet below
ground surface (bgs). The four borings will be drilled approximately 10 to 15 feet into
groundwater.Monitoring wells will be constructed in each boring.
C20-3978-03.MTG/2002P134 Page 1 of 6
Copyright 2002,Kleinfelder,Inc.
