I.
4.2.4 Former Tank Washout Area (B-1 and B-8)
Kleinfelder advanced two shallow soil borings in the vicinity of the former tank washout pad.
The first (B-1) was located on the eastern edge of the existing storage tank and the second (B-8)
was located near the center of the sump concrete pad. The concrete pad was cored with a
concrete coring tool and then the soil boring was advanced with a hand auger. Kleinfelder
collected three soil samples from each location for possible laboratory analysis. The soil samples
were collected at the surface, 1 foot, and 3 feet bgs. The 1-foot sample collected from B-1 was
submitted for laboratory analysis. Due to a strong odor noted during the advancement of the
boring, the 3-foot sample collected from B-8 was submitted for analysis. The remaining soil
samples were put on hold at the laboratory pending further analysis requirements if applicable.
The samples were analyzed for the list of analytes detailed in Section 5. The results of the
analyses conducted on the soil samples collected from the former tank washout area are tabulated
in the Tables portion of this report and the laboratory data sheets and chain of custody records
can be found in Appendix E.
4.2.5 Leach Field (B-6)
One soil boring (B-6) was advanced near the estimated location of the residential leach field. A
total of three soil samples were collected from within the residential leach field from one location
for possible laboratory analysis. The soil samples were collected at the surface, 1 foot, and 3 feet
bgs. The 3 foot soil sample was submitted for laboratory analysis. The remaining soil samples
were put on hold at the laboratory pending further analysis requirements if applicable The
sample was analyzed for the list of analytes detailed in Section 5. The results of the laboratory
analyses are tabulated in the tables portion of this report and the laboratory data sheets and chain
of custody records are included in Appendix E.
4.3 DOMESTIC WELL SAMPLING
Kleinfelder collected a water sample from the domestic water well on site. The water sample
was collected by drawing a sample from the closest discharge point to the well itself. The
discharge point was decontaminated with a Liquinox laboratory-grade detergent solution prior to
collection. Sufficient water was allowed to be purged from the discharge point prior to
collection. Because the well is an active domestic water supply, the water purged from the well
was not contained and allowed to flow to the ground surface. The domestic water sample was
analyzed as detailed in Section 5. The results of the laboratory analyses are tabularized in the
tables portion of this report and the laboratory data sheets and chain of custody records are
included in Appendix E.
I.
27125.E01 / STO4R181

© 2004 Kleinfelder, Inc.
