m KLEIN FELDER
5 ASSUMPTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
This workplan is based on the following assumptions:
Castello Estates will supply Kleinfelder with written authorization from the
property owner to obtain access to the site to install and sample the wells.
Adequate work space and access will be provided.
Drilling/sampling derived wastes will be generated during the proposed tasks.
Excess drilling returns will not be contained and will be spread on site. Water
generated during well development/purging/sampling and water derived from
equipment decontamination will be discharged to the ground surface.
Castello Estates should be aware that penetrating the site's surface is inherently
risky. It is impossible to determine with certainty the precise location of all
structures (such as septic system tanks or leach fields) which may be buried in the
ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not adequate to compensate for both the performance
of the services and the assumption of risk of damage to such structures. If the
active septic system or utilities on site are damaged by our field activities, repairs
will be necessary in order to provide continued service. Repairs are not included
in Kleinfelder's fees.
Underground Services Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides a partial location
service free of charge for major utility lines. It is important that the client
understand that subsurface structures (such as the septic systems, irrigation lines,
leach fields, et cetera) buried under private property will not be marked by the
public utility companies contacted by USA. Kleinfelder will require the drilling
subcontractor to contact USA.
24134.E01 / ST03R304 Page 8 of 10
Copyright 2003, Kleinfelder, Inc. February 26, 2003
