I recommend immediate <br />action be taken to mitigate the threat of airborne asbestos exposure <br />to the surrounding community for the following reasons: <br />The soil on-site contains 30 percent chrysotile asbestos as <br />verified by two sampling teams (attachment 1), <br />the asbestos is in a friable state due to very recent <br />turning of the soil, (attachment 2) and <br />a number of residences <br />in close proximity. <br />and Interstate Highway 5 are <br />I understand this site has been assigned to Brad Shipley of your <br />staff. He plans a site visit in early April.
