Ms. Vera Fischer, P.G., RWQCB April 24, 2017
Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment Project No. 2154-1817-01
1817 South Fresno Avenue, Stockton, CA
Page 5
Appendix A includes descriptions of field procedures that will be utilized during this
phase of investigation. Proposed drilling locations are shown on Figures 2 and/or 3. In
the event that permission to install wells MW-12 and MW-13 at the proposed locations is
denied, alternate locations for installation of these wells are depicted on Figure 4.
Task 1: Pre-Field Activities
Following approval of this Work Plan by the RWQCB, the following activities will be
completed:
Obtain an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton to enable installation of
MW-12 and MW-13,
Obtain drilling permits from SJCEHD,
Retain and schedule a licensed C-57 CPT contractor and drilling contractor,
Update the Health and Safety Plan for the Site,
Mark boring locations and contact Underground Service Alert to locate
underground utilities in the vicinity of the work site, and
Notify SJCEHD, the RWQCB, the City of Stockton, and Mr. Barnes of the
scheduled field activities.
Task 2: Field Activities
CPT Borings 45 1)04'
Folo/A,e 160711.5 )6 ip-f 14,61
'05 kod
Stratus will retain a C-57 licensed contractor to advance the CPT borings. CPT consists
of advancing a cone-tipped cylindrical probe (1.7 inches in diameter) into the ground
while simultaneously measuring the resulting resistance to penetration. A computer
generated CPT log is plotted in the field, providing a continuous log of Site lithology.
Upon completion of CPT profiling, to a depth of approximately 90 feet bgs, each of the
boreholes will be pressure grouted from the bottom of the borehole up to surface grade.
Once the CPT profiling has been performed at CPT-1 and CPT-2, hydropunch
groundwater sampling will be performed from an adjacent boring at each location. The
hydropunch sampler will be pushed to the bottom of the sampling interval using 2-inch
diameter steel rods. The steel rods will then be retracted approximately four feet,
exposing the screen, allowing for the collection of depth-discrete groundwater samples.
Groundwater sampling depths will be determined at the time of the investigation, and
based in part on soil types encountered at depth, however we anticipate collecting
approximately 3 to 5 groundwater samples between approximately 40 and 90 feet bgs.
The groundwater samples will be collected using a clean bailer, transferred to laboratory-
KABarnes Trucking\Work Plans\bames trucking work plan 2017.doc STRATUS
