Raynold I. Kablanow II, Ph.D.
California Professional Geologist #5234
Certified Hydrogeologist #442
Well Destruction Work Plan
FJJC Investments
NOV 1 8 2016
Project No.: 1048
November 2, 2016
ENVRONMENTAL
HEALTH DEPARTMENT
settles, additional grout will be pumped into the well casing. This will force the
cement into the filter pack.
The amount of cement grout volume needed to fill the well and filter pack has been
calculated (see Table 1) and the amount utilized will be tracked to judge the
effectiveness of the process.
After the grout has been installed, the entire contents of the well box will be removed
and the top of casing of the monitoring wells will be drilled out to a depth of 5 ft
below grade and backfilled with concrete forming a mushroom cap. The well drill out
will be conducted using a BK-81 drill rig, using a hollow stem auger.
The upper 12 inches of each hole will be capped with concrete to grade.
Schedule & Reporting
Following the completion of the permitting process, Ground Zero will immediately schedule
the well destruction work. Ground Zero anticipates the well destruction and site closure
activities to be completed by end of November 2016.
The information gathered during this phase of work will be presented in a Well Destruction
Report, which will include a discussion of well destruction efficiency and the volume of
grout used to destroy each well.
The project will be supervised by Dr. Ray Kablanow, the registered professional geologist
responsible for the work. Copies of the reports will be forwarded to both the appropriate
County and State regulatory agencies.
If you should have any questions please do not hesitate to call.
Respectfully Submitted,
cc: Judi Van Riet
