20 August 2018
AdvancedGeo
AGE Project No. 13-2557
Environmental
be obtained from the appropriate property owners. If necessary, encroachment permits
will be obtained from the City of Tracy. In addition, a site-specific health and safety plan
will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual
for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985).
Prior to mobilization, each soil boring will be clearly marked and a utility clearance
obtained through Underground Service Alert. The SJCEHD will be contacted at least 48
hours prior to conducting any field work.
2.2. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
AGE proposes to advance six (6) pilot soil borings to depths of 20 feet bsg and one (1)
pilot soil boring to a depth of 40 feet bsg for the installation of shallow-screened and deep-
screened groundwater monitoring wells. Soil borings will be advanced using a truck-
mounted drill rig equipped with 8.25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers. The total depth
of each well boring may vary according to geologic/hydrogeologic conditions encountered
during drilling. Locations of the proposed groundwater monitoring wells are as follows:
Three (3) pilot soil borings will be advanced to 20 feet bsg for installation of
shallow-screened wells at 3 East Eleventh Street (site) to asses and define the
lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impact adjacent to the former UST and in
the presumed up- and cross-gradient location from the former UST area.
One (1) pilot soil boring will be advanced to 20 feet bsg for installation of a shallow-
screened well at 1120 North Holly Drive to assess and define the lateral extent of
petroleum hydrocarbon impact in the presumed down-gradient location from the
former UST area.
One (1) pilot soil boring will be advanced to 20 feet bsg for installation of a shallow-
screened well at 1101 North Holly Drive to assess and define the lateral extent of
petroleum hydrocarbon impact in the presumed cross- and down-gradient location
from the former UST area.
One (1) pilot soil boring will be advanced to 20 feet bsg for installation of a shallow-
screened well at 1131 North Holly Drive to assess and define the lateral extent of
petroleum hydrocarbon impact in the presumed down-gradient location from the
former UST area.
One (1) pilot soil boring will be advanced to 40 feet bsg for installation of a deep-
screened well at 3 East Eleventh Street adjacent to the former UST area to define
the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impact in the former UST area.
All proposed pilot borings/monitoring well locations are illustrated in Figure 2.
