TERRAX
Environmental Engineering and Consulting
3.0 Permitted Site Investigation
As discussed previously, Terrax conducted a Phase II investigation at the Site. Terrax obtained a
Well Construction Permit from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department for
advancement of the soil borings. The permit was issued on October 17, 2016 for the advancement
and construction of the soil vapor monitoring wells. A condition of the permit is the final
destruction of the soil vapor monitoring wells once sampling is complete under a separate permit.
Soil borings and the soil vapor probes were located across the Site as follows: Borings B1 and B2
were advanced to depths of 15 feet below ground surface (bgs) and were located 12 feet west of
the east property line. Boring B1 was located 23 feet north and Boring B2 was located 23 feet
south of the southeast corner of the property building. Boring B3 was advanced to a depth of 15
feet bgs and was located 5 feet south of the building's south wall and 56 feet east of the southwest
corner of the building. Boring B4 was advanced to a depth of 15 feet bgs and was located 15 feet
east of the sidewalk running along North El Dorado Street and 25 feet north of the subject property
fence running along East Fremont Street. Boring B5 was advanced to refusal at a depth of 7 feet
bgs (samples reports recorded depth as 10 feet bgs) and located 25 feet east of B4 and 11 feet north
of the subject property fence running along East Fremont Street. Boring B6 was advanced to 15
feet bgs and was located 25 feet north of B4 and 15 feet east of the sidewalk running along North
El Dorado Street. Please see Figure 2 for a map indicating boring locations.
The Site is scheduled for demolition and the investigation wells are to be abandoned in accordance
with the original permit requirement.
4.0 Proposed Scope of Work
San Joaquin County has stated that they require all completed monitoring wells to be cored out
after sampling in accordance with California well standards 74-90.
