Mr Ron Valinoti
Page 3
November 6, 1989
the County's application for the North County Sanitary Landfill
permit until an Army Corps of Engineer 404 Permit is obtained.
Subsequently, County Public Works staff met with your staff and
CWMB staff on October 30, 1989, to discuss the necessity for
proceeding with the review of the permit application prior to
receiving the 404 Permit. As a result of this meeting, it is our
understanding you may now accept the permit application, complete
your review, and submit your recommendations to the CWMB. The CWMB
will then begin its review of the permit application. However, THE
CWMB will not issue the permit until after the County has obtained
a 404 Permit from the Army Corps of Engineers, if required. When
notified of the issuance of the 404 Permit, if required, the CWMB
will proceed with its consideration in a timely fashion.
In accordance with the above understanding, San Joaquin County
hereby waives the review period, contained in Section 66796 32 of
the Government Code, for the CWMB to concur with the Local
Enforcement Agency decision concerning permitting of the North
County Sanitary Landfill.
If you need further information, you may contact Gene Delucchi,
Chief Deputy Public Works Director at (209) 468-3031 .
Sincerely,
µ
Hen"M.
