Work Plan for Installation of Temporary Soil Gas Sampling Probes, Page 3
Soil Gas Sampling, and Laboratory Analyses
ELLIS SUBDIVISION
WKA No. 12002.03
August 8, 2018
Volatile organic hydrocarbons (VOCs) using EPA Method 8260
TPH as gasoline using EPA Method 8260
TPH-diesel range using EPA Method 8015m
The leak compound 1,1-Difluoroethane using EPA Method 8260B
If field condition warrant, the soil samples collected from the borings will be submitted
with completed chain-of-custody forms to a State Water Resources Control Board-
certified laboratory for all or a portion of the chemical analyses listed below.
VOCs using EPA Method 8260B
TPH as gasoline using EPA Method 8260B;
TPH as diesel and TPH as motor oil using modified EPA Method 8015; and,
Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) using EPA Method 8082.
Soil cuttings will be placed on and covered with plastic sheeting or placed into 55-gallon
steel drums. Rinsate water will be placed into 55-gallon steel drums. The drums will be
labeled, sealed, and stored on-site pending results of laboratory analyses.
After sample collection, Teg will remove the PRT drive and Nylaflow tubing from each
boring and backfill to ground surface using Portland cement under observation of a
SJCEHD grout inspector.
Report Preparation
Following completion of sampling activities and receipt of analytical data, a report will be
prepared. The report will include a sketch map illustrating soil gas sampling probe locations, a
description of field methods used, tables summarizing results of analytical data, and a
discussion of field observations and findings, a copy of the laboratory analytical data sheets and
chain-of-custody documentation, conclusions, and recommendations, if appropriate.
Schedule
Installation of the soil gas sampling probes has been scheduled for August 20th, August 24th,
and August 27th.
We are tentatively scheduled to start the fieldwork on August 20, 2018, pending receipt of
permits for the temporary soil gas sampling probes from SJCEHD. Your attention to this
application package is certainly appreciated. Please call or email me if you have any questions
or need additional information.
1AS
