AdvancedGeo
Environmental wgg
21 June 2018
AGE Project No. 11-1847
Page 2 of 8
AGE is proposing to install three (3) SVE wells at total depths of 25 feet bsg (just below
the approximate historic ground water level). Additionally, to evaluate IAS in the saturated
zone, AGE is proposing to install two (2) IAS wells to total depths of 35 feet bsg. The
proposed SVE and IAS well locations are depicted on Figure 2.
Following installation of the above SVE and IAS wells, AGE proposes to conduct one, 8-
hour SVE/IAS combined pilot test at the site. Feasibility pilot testing will be conducted
from a selected SVE well (screened 10 to 25 feet) and a selected IAS well (screened
between 30 to 35 feet).
Drilling and SVE/IAS pilot test activities will consist of the following tasks:
Permitting and pre-field work activities;
Drilling and installation of SVE wells VW-1, VW-2 and VW-3;
Drilling and installation of IAS wells IAS-1 and IAS-2;
Performance of an 8-hour SVE/IAS pilot test;
Preparation of a report of findings.
Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail.
2.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable site drilling/well installation permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (EHD) and if necessary from the San Joaquin
County Air Pollution Control District (SJCAPCD). In addition, an update to the health and
safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and
Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to mobilization, all underground work
areas will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through Underground Service
Alert.
2.2. INSTALLATION OF REM EDIATION WELLS
SVE and IAS wells will be installed in the following locations in anticipation of each well
being included within a future SVE/IAS remediation network:
A four-inch diameter SVE well (VW-1), screened between 10 and 25 feet bsg, will
be located between former UST's 3 and 4, approximately 20 to 25 feet northeast
of monitoring well MW-6.
