Health and Safety Plan <br />705 Carlton Avenue, Stockton, CA <br />EFI Global Project No. 9836003958 <br />10.3 LEVEL C <br />Level C PPE consists of the following equipment: <br />NIOSH approved full face or half mask air purifying respirator; <br />Disposable, hooded chemical resistant coveralls; <br />Reflective safety vest; <br />Chemical resistant outer and inner gloves; <br />Hard hat and boots with steel toe and shank; and <br />Optional inner coveralls, chem ically resistant boots, boot covers, face shield, escape mask, long <br />underwear, and coolant vest. <br />10.4 LEVEL D <br />Level D PPE consists of the following equipment: <br />Disposable nitrile gloves, face shield or ANSI 2000 protective eye glasses; <br />Reflective safety vest; <br />Hard hat and boots with steel toe and shank; and <br />Eyewash kit will be available at all times. <br />11.0 ENGINEERING CONTROLS AND WORK PRACTICES <br />Engineering controls and work practi ces used to protect site personnel f rom exposure to hazardous <br />substances and health and safety hazards will include the following at a minimum. <br />11.1 EQUIPMENT <br />Construction equipment may be used during execution of the scope of work, and shall conform to the <br />following conditions: <br />Construction equipment will be initially inspected u pon arrival at the Site and will have ov erhead <br />protection from falling objects for the operator. <br />Dump trucks, haul trucks, front-end loaders, earth movers, and like machinery will be equipped with <br />backup alarms. When it is necessary to travel with this type of equipment, a signal person will direct <br />the movement of the equipment and warn others in order to prevent collisions. <br />Crawler cranes and truck cranes, both latticed boom and hydraulic boom , w ill be equipped with <br />boom angle indicators, loa d indicators, anti-two-block devices, etc. The load lines and boom lines <br />shall be of sufficient length to maintain a minimum three wraps on the bare drum. <br />For the truck cranes, a back-up alarm shall be installed. <br />Operators of crane equipment will have a valid and current physical exam, letter of employment, and <br />current insurance. <br />Some of the equipm ent used on Site operates under high air pressure. As such, EF I Global <br />personnel and its subcont ractors will be required to wear Level D PPE, including proper ey e <br />protection, at all times while in the work zone. <br />EFI Global° <br />Engineenng Fite& <br />PrevironmentalServires Page 9 of 19
