Health and Safety Plan <br />705 Carlton Avenue, Stockton, CA <br />EFI Global Project No. 9836003958 <br />Only authorized persons shall operate machinery or equipment. <br />Loose or frayed clothing, long hair, dangling ties, finger rings, etc. shall not be worn around moving <br />machinery or other sources of entanglement. <br />Machinery shall not be serviced, repaired, or adj usted while in operation, nor shall oiling of moving <br />parts be attempted, except on equipm ent that is designed or fitted with safeguards to protect th e <br />person performing to work. <br />Where appropriate, lock-out procedures shall be used. <br />Employees shall not work under vehi cles supported by jacks or chain hoists without protective <br />blocking that will prevent injury if jacks or hoists should fail. <br />Air hoses shall not be disconnected at compressors until hose air has been bled. <br />All excavations shall be visually inspected before backfilling to ensure that it is safe to backfill. <br />Excavating equipm ent shall not be ope rated near t ops of cuts, banks, and cliffs if e mployees are <br />working below. <br />Tractors, bulldozers, scrapers, and carry alls sh all not operate where there is a possibilit y of <br />overturning in dangerous areas, like edges of deep pits, cut banks, and steep slopes. <br />When loading where there is a possibili ty of dangerous slides or movement of material, the wheels <br />or treads of 1 oading equipment, unless riding on rails, should be turned in the direction t hat will <br />facilitate escape in case of danger, except in a situati on where this position of the wheels or treads <br />would cause a greater operational hazard. <br />Forklift operators are required to be certified and must have a certification card on their person or in <br />the jobsite office. <br />Equipment must be inspected daily. <br />All OSHA regulations, manufacturer reco mmendations, and Operation & Safety Manual <br />recommendations must be followed for the safe and proper use of the equipment. <br />An operator m ust be present on the machine wh en the engine is running, unless the bucket is <br />lowered to the ground, the brake is set, the machine is in neutral, and the operator is within 25 feet of <br />the machine and has it in his line of sight. <br />Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose. <br />Damaged equipment must be locked out & tagged out. <br />Smoking is prohibited while fueling equipment. <br />All spills must be cleaned up, and waste must be disposed of properly. <br />When cranes are us ed on Site, a daily inspection check list for t he crane and the rigging must be <br />completed. <br />Proper use and care of tools is critical to the safety of Site workers: <br />All tools and equipment shall be maintained in good condition and inspected daily. <br />Workers shall report all tools or equipment that are not working properly. <br />Damaged tools or equipment shall be removed from service and tagged "DO NOT USE." <br />EFI Global° <br />Engineenrkt Fire& <br />FrivirnrunenlalServires Page 10 of 19
