All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #4 Safety Equipment MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: Hook pole broken to less than 4 feet, life saver ring kept inside locked pump room. Immediately provide when public can have access. Corrected by placing ring outside and pole replaced. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw rope, Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. (CCR 65540) #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Name, address, capacity, pool hours faded on sign. Re-label immediately. This is a repeat violation. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safely signs well maintained. (CCR 55535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 31208) #7 Pool Deck OBSERVATIONS: Many cracks and holes on pool deck and edge of pool, and some of the expansion slot missing wood or material leaving gaps almost as wide as 2 inches. Repair immediately to provide safe walking surface. This is a repeat violation. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4-foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained flush with the top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any diving board, ADA device, or slide. (CBC 311413) Pool operator shall keep the pool deck well maintained. (CCR 65535) #17 Cleanliness of Pool OBSERVATIONS: Debris in bottom of pool. Clean. This is a repeat violation. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain clean pool water while the pool is in use and shall not allow debris to accumulate in the pool Pool operator shall dean the bottom, sides, and other surfaces of the pool as often as necessary to keep pool surfaces clean and free of slime and algae.
