PA -2000102 <br />TERRACON PROJECT NUMBER: NA217019 <br />Irerracon <br />Our office was contacted by Mr. Steven Ehlers to conduct a Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study <br />(SSNLS) for the subject property. The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the <br />greatest degree possible, San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department (EHD) Soil <br />Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated September 25, 2007 and Nitrate Loading Study <br />Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003. <br />1.0 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br />1.1 Introduction and Development <br />The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether site soils are suitable for <br />septic system usage. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9- <br />110.05.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work <br />included conducting percolation tests that meet absorption rates as specified by EHD. A review <br />of published soil information, geologic maps, and groundwater information was also performed. <br />1.1.1 Site Description <br />The site consists of an approximately 5.43 -acre tract of land located at 9220 West Highway 12, <br />Lodi, California, San Joaquin County, California, Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 055-070-21. <br />Based on interviews with Mr. Ehlers and a review of the site plan, the site is a grain facility. <br />Improvements include a 4,000 square foot (SF) single -story warehouse, grain tanks, grain dryer, <br />two grain silos, truck scale, scale house, 30,000 -gallon LPG tank, one septic system, one <br />domestic groundwater well, utilities, and paved drive areas. <br />According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer the site is zoned general agriculture (AG - <br />40). Based on a review of the San Joaquin County Community Development Department website, <br />the AG -40 zoning designation is intended to "preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of <br />commercial agriculture enterprises." <br />Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 3 <br />
