NCRCSL
is a single solid waste management unit, designated Class III, accepting non -hazardous
municipal solid waste, and inert waste. The property size of NCRCSL is about 320 acres. The
permitted refuse fill area of NCRCSL is approximately 185 acres, comprised of lined modules,
each constructed on an as -needed basis (Figure 1). Currently, there are three modules filled with
waste and the fourth module currently being filled. The maximum design depth of refuse is 54
feet NAVD 88 (North American Vertical Datum) near module 3 sump.
3.0 MONITORING PERIMETER NETWORK
The proposed monitoring perimeter well network within the property boundary of NCRCSL is
established in accordance with Title 27§ 20925.
I. SOIL GAS WELL
The monitoringwell perimeter network of NCRCSL consists of 18 perimeter monitoring
p
soil gas wells (Figure 1). These wells are NCRCSL's point of compliance for off-site
migration of methane.
All monitoring perimeter soil gas wells will be triple probe (Figures 2, and 3). Six soil
gas wells are existing and 12 new soil gas are proposed (Table 1). Well logs of existing
soil gas wells are in Appendix B.
A. Well Location
All soil gas wells are located outside the limit of refuse (Figure 1).
B. Well Spacing
The lateral spacing of monitoring perimeter soil gas well is less than 1000 feet
(Figure1). Location of new soil gas wells will be staked by a licensed surveyor per
the site plan.
North County Recycling Center And Sanitary Landfill County of San Joaquin
Landfill Gas Monitoring Plan 2 Department of Public Works
Solid Waste Division
