1.1 PURPOSE <br />This work plan presents the procedures for the installation of groundwater <br />(GW -3E) monitoring well at North County Recycling Center and Sanitary <br />Landfill (NCRCSL). <br />1.2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br />NCRCSL is located at 17720 East Harney Lane, approximately nine miles <br />east of Lodi. It is a single solid waste management unit, designated Class <br />III, accepting non -hazardous municipal solid waste and inert waste. The <br />site is 185 acres in area, comprised of lined modules, each constructed on <br />an as -needed basis. The landfill is expected to close in 2070, based on <br />current disposal rates and current permitted capacity. <br />1.3 REASON FOR INSTALLING MONITORING WELL <br />The current down gradient well G -3D is dry. The new well is a <br />replacement well. <br />The location of the GW well is away from the refuse footprint (Figure 1). <br />Well installation work will not include drilling into refuse or contact with <br />refuse. Well location will be adjusted in the field based on site conditions. <br />The well will be surveyed after installation. <br />1.5 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE <br />SWD will schedule installation of the GW monitoring well after approval of <br />drilling permit from San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br />(EHD). Drilling and installation of each GW well will take minimum of three <br />(3) working days. The work hours will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to <br />4.30 pm. <br />1.6 UTILITIES CLEARANCE <br />Prior to drilling, Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified. Drilling <br />location near overhead power lines will be checked for drill rig clearances <br />before drilling.
